A carol: a circle dance accompanied by singers

Across the ocean,
nineweaving went to her University's carol service, and had a good time, but dreamed of mummers' plays and wassailing.
bohemiancoast cnsoled her with phantoms, pictures in the ether - to be precise, this photograph of Chingford morris, and their mascot Goldenballs.
As it happens, I too went to a carol evening. And as it happens, one of the people I was singing with is in that picture of Chingford morris (second from the right, with squeezebox). And my guessing is that another of the people I was singing with did the stitching for Goldenballs.
It's a web.
Further Christmas reports: on the way back from the pool this morning we stopped at the garden centre and bought a tree - and a bottle of home-made ginger wine, which we suspect is not alcoholic, but it's good and gingery.
And now we're going to the Lit & Phil, to be told ghost stories.
