Not exactly a stroll in the park

While the Botanic Gardens are closed -

- Sigh. The decision was taken before the weekend, so it isn't because the gardens were overcrowded at the weekend. I don't know if they were afraid of an overload, or whether it was a problem of access (through staffed points) or just the University deciding to treat all its museums and attractions alike. Anyway -

- the Head Gardener has been mailing out a photo a day of things that caught his eye. I wondered if there was any way of sharing these, and now the Friends of the Garden have made a blog page with all the photos on it.

I particularly like today's (day 6), a seat in the sunshine by a bank of daffodils just coming into bloom.

Oh, of course, it's Durham Botanic Gardens. I've been there, in happier times. We were planning to go to Anglesey Abbey, the weekend they closed it, to catch the last of the snowdrops. Fortunately the local rec is still open for daily walks.
