Yes, I think
Shetland
dies a good job of conveying something of what the place is like - somrthing that the books are also very strong on.
It's not that
Trapped
isn't bleak, it's just that the bleakness (which I think is a large part of what I've been calling 'noir') is so over the top.
Nordic crime seems to default to noir - but if I discover any Nordic cosy, I'll let you know!
