Quaker simplicity

J and F are members of their local Quaker meeting in Wales; they meet in the Dolobran Meeting House, built as a Quaker Meeting House in 1701. It was built on land belonging to the Lloyd family of Dolobran, and still belongs, not to the Meeting but to the family. The road which used to give access to it is no longer a road, and visitors must now park at the farm and walk down the lane and across the field.

By way of contrast, while I was wandering round Flickr in search of this and other pictures, I also found this wonderful set of pictures of the most baroque chapel imaginable.

No, I've never been there; I think David has, he's certainly told me about the gallery.

But these are wonderful photographs. Thank you for that link.

Also, re Arts & Crafts: we're going to Melsetter (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/hoy/melsetter/index.html)!

Melsetter looks very promising. I'd never heard of it. When is your visit?

I've replied privately in case burglars read LJ!
